The R. E. Olds Transportation Museum has built its antique automobile collection entirely through the generous contributions of many thoughtful collectors. To date, the Museum has purchased only a few vehicles and has received over 90 vehicle donations.
The vehicle donation process typically begins with a review of photographs supplied by the donor and then progresses through an on-site inspection by the Museum, appraisal (the donor’s responsibility to obtain) and the arrangement of transportation. The Museum’s Executive Director works with donors during the entire process to ensure a seamless transaction. Furthermore, as an 501(c)3 museum, donors may be permitted to deduct the full fair market value of the vehicle being donated. In addition, the R. E. Olds Transportation Museum may accept certain vehicles solely for resale purposes as well.
