The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum is dedicated to educate people on the contributions of Ransom Eli Olds and the rich history of automotive engineering, assembly, and tradition that makes Lansing a unique community in the automotive world. The Museum currently has many challenges to manage: First, the current location is in the flood plain and flood way for the Grand River, endangering the priceless and irreplaceable collections. Second, the size of the building limits the ability to increase the collections to more fully reflect the rich automotive tradition of this area. Third, to keep the doors open and maintain the current collections.
